So, while I was at work, my wife needed a power outlet, so she unplugged my Klipsch 4. Long story short- wasn’t muted, so when she plugged it back it- speakers no worky no more. These aren’t the best speakers, but for casual computer music and gaming use, they’re great and I’ve had them for a pretty long time. So I opened up the subwoofer to get to the amp and saw that there were two resistors that had some problems: My Photos are now added at the end of the post, below They give you a good idea of what has happened though. The R12 picture shows the zip tie. My zip tie was completely melted, and broken through! But, the R12 was still working. My R26 was way worse than shown in the second picture though R12 is the gray resistor.

Toes, Tubes, and Detritus “So there I was, sitting in the comfort of my living room, amongst the detritus of major home renovation Fig. I was flipping through a hard-print DIY audio magazine I will let you guess which one trying to ignore the adds in the margins for products I can neither afford nor rationalize, when a little something tugged at my subconscious. My eyes went over to the left margin where I was confronted with the question “How do you improve the World’s Best speakers”.
That’s a pretty bold statement on many levels!
Dec 27, · These are amazing speakers for the money, so here’s a detailed video showing how to set up your speakers properly!:D
Support What is the best way for me to hook up my subwoofer? The optimal connection is to use the RCA Phono “sub” or “woofer” line out found on home theater receivers and pre-amps. Some subwoofers offer High Level inputs speaker wire connections , they are there for use with a receiver or pre-amp without a sub RCA connection. You don’t need to use both and in most cases it’s not recommended. Just as receivers and preamplifiers are different across brands, subwoofer brands may be different as well.
Every room may be unique in the way it supports or cancels low frequency information. The quantity of bass desired may differ for each listener. Additionally, hookups to the same amps or receivers and the same subwoofers can produce different results if “bass management” settings speaker size selectors, etc. The best thing to do is to experiment until it sounds just right for your listening style In some rare cases, you may find an RCA connector marked LFE Low Frequency Effects on a receiver or pre-amp; hooking up the “LFE” jacks usually only sends bass special effects of a 5.
In that case, when music is played on a two-channel source for example, a CD , the subwoofer may not receive any signal at all. That situation would call for a hookup of both the “LFE” jacks and the speaker terminal jacks to a subwoofer, in order for the sub to produce bass with all sources.
My klipsch soundbar stopped producing sound. both sub and bar is on but no sound
Since its debut back in , the set has remained unchanged, and it still retails for nearly the same price. So is this a case of “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”, or should Klipsch think about updating the Pro Media line? Opening up the box you’ll find two speakers, a subwoofer, and some wires.

Speaker Connections for proper impedance match A note about amplifiers: You should always use the recommended load for your amplifier. However, if you must use a load other than the recommended load, here is a short guide. Most solid-state amplifiers would rather look at an open circuit no speaker at all than a load. Therefore, you can usually use a load that is higher than the recommended load. Do not use a lower impedance load, as this could cause serious damage to your SS amp.
On the other hand, most tube amplifiers need a load to avoid transformer or tube socket damage. If a mismatch can not be avoided on a tube amp, it is better to go towards a lower impedance rather than too high of a speaker impedance. This may stress the tubes some, but, tubes are cheaper than transformers. As the graphic shows, you connect the positive wire to speaker A’s positive terminal, connect a wire from speaker A’s negative terminal to speaker B’s positive wire, and then connect the negative wire to the negative terminal of speaker B.
You could continue this string for as many speakers that you have available, however, it may not be very practical.

Dec 04, · Hey guys I just bought a pair of Klipsch KF floor speakers for my ‘home theater’ setup. Basically it is just them for now and a receiver. There are two .
Well there’s a idea that was blown out of the water! LOL I am currently using the Klipsch for the rear surround, along with two Klipsch flush mount ceiling speakers for the rear also. I just wanted to try and get more out of the 2 channel stereo. When I listen to music, not watching movies, I like to listen to it in 2 channel stereo. That’s why I thought I would try the stacking method. Or would that be the only way to do it. Since my Yamaha claims to push watts per channel the wattage is still hitting the speakers.
Not like my old Sansui DB which push’s per channel.

Best bookshelf speaker under a grand If the SVS Ultras aren’t your style, these are the best money can buy. View on Amazon KEF is mostly known for the fact that they introduced the coaxial design to a wide audience, and sort of pushed it into the mainstream. No matter which model from the Q series you end up choosing, you will be getting the same treatment in terms of design and appearance.
The Q s are the largest of the bunch, which means that they offer a lot of space for the sound to travel, as well as big and high-performance electronics. The cabinets boast a premium MDF build, which you can tell is pretty sturdy right away. Depending on the finish you choose, you either get a sleek white look, or a more natural, wood- grain vinyl design. As we have previously mentioned, the most prominent feature of the Q s are the coaxial transducers. In terms of the actual audio signature, the lower and mid-range are accentuated, but not too much.
Enough for the tracks to get a decent representation, without any part of the spectrum getting blown out of proportion. However, not everyone will appreciate that mid-range boost, so keep that in mind! Coax build brings the audio to an impressive level, very vibrant audio, great build Disadvantages: For upwards of a grand, we are looking at the SVS Ultra.

Wired outdoor speakers will transmit the audio signal more reliably–that’s just physics because the signal is being transmitted via an enclosed cable with shielding to prevent interference.
Wireless technology is more prone to outside factors and you may get interference from time to time.
The number of speakers you get will help you to determine how to position them, which, in turn, factors into how you hook them up. The most common surround sound systems are and, with the “5” or “7” indicating the number of speakers in the setup and the “1” indicating a solitary subwoofer.
Do you need really huge speakers, and are they worth it? Yes they are…at all costs. The bigger the better! Monstrous, gigantic speakers sitting three feet away from your face and pumping out dB of ear-bleeding sound is exactly what you need! Just ask your spouse or the person sitting next to you. How to Connect Klipsch Speakers
Dec 15, Hallelujah! A custom-installation speaker package even an audiophile can love. Klipsch’s new THX Ultra2 speaker system boldly goes where poseur speakers fear to tread. Let’s face it, the speaker industry is obsessed with producing ever skinnier and sleeker designs; you know, the sort of trendy speakers that look cool straddling plasma TVs. For their new high-end line, Klipsch’s product planners took a different approach: No doubt most of these big-‘n’-brawny speakers will be tucked out of sight or flush-mounted in a posh home theater, but I’d bet a bunch of these systems will be sold to performance-oriented buyers.
Feb 19, · Just use the standard RCA connection in jack #1 behind your , and connect that to the LFE (white) connection behind the Klipsch sub Also see p.7 in the Klipsch manual-.
On the end of the wire is a connector that can plug into a socket or “jack” on your computer. The first thing you want to do is to be sure that this connector is compatible with your computer. Most computer speakers and microphones have a connector that looks something like one of these: If your speaker or microphone plug doesn’t look like this, other types of audio connectors are mentioned at the end of this section. Technically, these are 3. You can see from the picture that the exposed metal part is about a half inch or 13 millimeters long.
There are a couple of things you can take note of from the picture. First, the plastic jackets of these two plugs are different colors. Second, there is one insulator ring around the metal part of the lower, gray plug. There are two insulator rings on the upper, green plug.
